My Halloween Story: The Mystery of Henry Orson

This past Halloween, I wrote a story in the style of the great H.P. Lovecraft: The Mystery of Henry Orson. Even if you’ve never read any Lovecraft, you’ve probably encountered some of his signature memes. Many of them have found their way into other popular fiction, movies, and television shows, including:

  • The Necronomicon (book of the dead)
  • Cthulhu, the ancient one
  • Miskatonic University
  • Arkham Asylum

For an introduction to Lovecraft’s writing, I recommend his story, At the Mountains of Madness.  Several inexpensive collections of Lovecraft’s stories can be found on Amazon.
